Khoury Hospital Zahle is a landmark and iconic building that withstood decades of wars in Beqaa before being established as a hospital in 1990. Going through Zahle’s main highway to Brazilia street, the pesante and elegantly dressed brutalist façade welcomes you with its rhythmic undulations.
Our aim is to preserve the existing and meaningful architectural morphology, therefore subtle changes were made in the objective of highlighting all entrances to the hospital.
To accentuate that purpose, the main entrance on the Western façade was painted with a darkened earthy hue along the central skeleton going all the way down to semicircular front gate.
Along the extremity, the dome on the southern western façade was brought to life with lights hitting its curve from below along with the crowning orange and yellow bougainvillea grown vernacularly.
As for the Southern façade, the secondary along with the emergency entrance call to attention with their darker hue that stands out of the surrounding beige stones.
